Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips plus extra for topping

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven:

  • Begin by heating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside for later.

Cream the Butter and Sugars:

  • In the bowl of your stand mixer, combine the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat on medium speed for about 3 minutes, until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients:

  • In another bowl, whisk the baking soda, kosher salt, cornstarch, and all-purpose flour together. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until everything is blended together.

Fold in the Chocolate Chips:

  • Gently stir in the milk chocolate chips, making sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.

Shape the Cookie Dough:

  • Use a 1/3 cup measuring scoop (approximately 4.2 ounces) to portion out the dough, rolling it into a ball. Break the dough ball in half, turn the jagged edges upward, and press the halves back together. This creates the signature rough, craggy top that is characteristic of Crumbl cookies.

Bake the Cookies:

  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced around 3 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center remains soft.

Cool and Finish:

  • Immediately after baking, press a few extra milk chocolate chips into the top of each cookie to create that Crumbl-style finish. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
